Day 1 | Tuesday

PORT ELIZABETH to KNYSNA via TSITSIKAMMA FOREST (±265km)

You will be collected by our tourist guide and travel west via Storms River Mouth located in the Garden Route (Tsitsikamma) National Park to Knysna.

At Storms River mouth you will be given the opportunity to cross the suspension bridge that spans the river, offering you breath-taking views over rocks and crashing waves of the Indian Ocean. Enjoy lunch (own account) in the Tsitsikamma Forest area. We continue our journey through Plettenberg Bay to the laid back and pretty town of Knysna. Arrive in Knysna at your hotel in the late afternoon. Enjoy time at leisure before we dine out (own account) at a restaurant next to the Knysna estuary.
Protea Hotel Knysna Quays or similar – bed and breakfast

Day 2 | Wednesday

KNYSNA to OUDTSHOORN via WILDERNESS (±125km)
Depart from the hotel after breakfast and travel to Oudtshoorn via Wilderness and the Outeniqua pass. With the Knysna heads behind us, we continue our scenic trip to Wilderness. Enjoy photo opportunities and unspoilt views at Map of Africa lookout point (weather permitting).

After lunch (own account) we continue on our journey over the Outeniqua Pass and into the Klein Karoo. In the Cango Valley we find ourselves at a 20 million year old subterranean wonderland at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains, the Cango Caves. Once back above ground, we travel back into Oudsthoorn, the ostrich capital of the world with over 400 ostrich farms as well as several Feather Palaces. Dinner (own account) will be at the hotel or alternatively at one of the quaint restaurants situated in town.
Protea Hotel Riempie Estate or similar – bed and breakfast

Day 3 | Thursday

OUDTSHOORN to CAPE TOWN via ROUTE 62 (±440km)
Our last day of this tour takes us from Oudtshoorn to the beautiful city of Cape Town via Route 62. After breakfast depart from the hotel and visit an ostrich farm where you will have the unique experience of interacting with the ostriches, seeing the hatchery and even daring to ride one of these strange, magnificent and flightless birds. Continue along Route 62, the alternative and more scenic route that links the Western and Eastern Cape.

Enjoy lunch (own account) en route. Venture further south on Route 62 passing Swellendam and over Sir Lowry’s Pass. Catch the first glimpse of the majestic Table Mountain in the distance. Arrive at your Cape Town hotel or Cape Town International Airport late afternoon.
